That doesn’t mean you have to spend a ton of money or that you need to go crazy, it just means that you need to get a little bit creative. You can get some ideas from my post about cheap or free incentives. WebbWith 5th graders and below, I use kindness but am authoritative. In middle school, I feel these kids are old enough to “behave”. I hate to do it, but if a class gets too unruly, and you’ve tried and tried to quiet them down and it just doesn’t work, just tell the “class” not an individual child to “shut up” and that gets their attention.
