Ischgl

   Famous for its apres-ski which begins at dusk and ends at dawn, Ischgl forms part of the Silvretta Ski Arena, a paradise for skiers and snowboarders.

   Located in the Paznaun Valley near St Anton, Ischgl connects to the Swiss duty-free zone of Samnaun via 42 ski lifts and cable cars, with over 200km of well groomed piste.

   Ischgl town is changing fast. It is a strange mixture of pretty, traditional Tyrolean village, pricey up market hotels and drunken, bawdy après-ski. But the resort remains quite trendy and attracts top-draw entertainers for open-air concerts - Elton John, Diana Ross, Madonna, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart to name a few.

   The slopes are extensive, high, snowsure and ideal for intermediate cruising - some of the best intermediate terrain in Austria. And the efficient lift system now boasts fourteen high-speed chair-lifts (including six-seaters and eight seater) and three gondolas.

   The resort has introduced a unique refund service if the road to and from it is shut because of avalanche danger. Alternative accommodations will be paid for as long as the road is closed.

   In addition, the nearby town of KAPPL has 5 lifts, 30km of groomed trail, and is linked to Ischgl by free skibus. Kappl offers a good alternative for the cost concious.

Only 50 m to the lifts! Virtually ski in/ski out convenience. Bar, café, lounge, sauna, steambath, jacuzzi, solarium, massages. All rooms with TV, safe, hairdrier, minibar, bathrobe and balcony.

Superb hotel right in the centre of town, 200m from the lifts.

Quality hotel located just 300m to the gondola and town centre. Has 39 spacious rooms, all with phone, radio, TV and safe.

Ratia Condo's 4**** (Ischgl - Condos)

Four lovely apartments of a very good standard, located right in the centre of Ischgl. Suitable for 2 to 5 persons.

Each apartment has a kitchenette,  TV, phone, balcony and safe. Sauna and gym in the common area. No meals included.

Gasthaus Tschatscha 2** (Kappl - Hotels)

Located in the village of Kappl, near the lifts and just 10 minutes drive from Ischgl. A small but nice B&B with great rates.

Each room has private facilities, TV, and phone.

Hotel Christophorus 4**** (Kappl - Hotels)

Superb recently built hotel located in Kappl. Close to the village centre and local lifts and with a ski bus to Ischgl at the gate.

Excellent wellness area with  sauna,  steam bath with herbs,  relaxation room, infra-red cabin, solarium, massages, and therapy with magnetic fields.
