8 day Escorted tour by E-bike or trekking bike

With the brand new deluxe boat Andela Lora and by electric bike or trekking bike we discover the special charm of the Adriatic Sea: Countless islands in crystal clear water, deeply fissured cliffs, picturesque beaches and numerous small bays. That’s the Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic. Every island is different. Each has its own history. We spend a week discovering the landscape and people of this unique island world by bike independently and with the aid of knowledgeable tour guides.

On all our Croatian Deluxe Tours high quality E-bikes of the Swiss brand FLYER can be offered because a specially designed loading ramp makes the embarkation and disembarkation for the bikes less complicated. Electric bikes allow true independence for anybody who enjoys activity. They allow hassle-free cycling as well as climbing mountains without difficulty. But all cycle tours are planned in a way that also enables cyclists to ride a trekking bike – but wanting to spend their vacation on one of the deluxe boats – to join the bike rides trouble-free if they have a basic level of fitness.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Omišalj – Malinska – Krk (cycle tour approx. 20 km / 12 mi.)

Individual arrival to Omisalj – a quiet port town on the island of Krk. We have enough time to take a refreshing swim in the Adriatic Sea or to enjoy an ice cream before we board the boat. Between14 and 14:30 pm onwards we can move into our cabins on the motor yacht. Around 15 pm the boat takes off to Malinska on Krk Island. From here we start our first cycle tour that leads us through old villages and luscious vegetation as far as the lively island capital of the same name, which can be explored in the evening on a guided walk through the historic old town.

Day 2

Islands of Goli Otok and Rab (cycle tour approx. 25 km/ 15 mi.)

From Krk the boat takes us in the morning to Goli Otok (Croatian: the naked island), a tiny island on which the Yugoslavian high security prison “Titos Hawai” was situated from 1949 – 1988. Today the island is uninhabited but may be visited. After a guided visit the boat sails to Lopar on Rab Island. From here today’s tour leads us through the northern part of the island, which is green and rich in water to Rab town. The fortified capital of the island was built in the Middle Ages on a wedge shaped headland, and marks one of the highlights of the trip. The four famous bell towers are the symbol of the adorned beauty of the town. On a guided evening walk we can explore the most interesting sights of Rab. Numerous cosy cafes invite us to enjoy a drink in the narrow alleys after dinner.

Day 3

Island of Pag – Zadar (cycle tour approx. 20 km/ 12 mi.)

After a short cruise we reach island of Pag. In the harsh but delightful landscape of the island we come across many fig and olive trees. Over the centuries the inhabitants have built numerous stone walls for protection against the wind. Starting from Lun at the northern end of the island we cycle to Novalja, where the boat awaits us for a sail to Zadar, which, for centuries, was the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. 3000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Donatus Basilica. In the evening our tour guide takes us on an extensive walk through the lively city centre.

Day 4

Islands of Dugi Otok and Molat (cycle tour approx. 42 km/ 26 mi.)

From Sali on Dugi Otok we start our today’s tour in the morning. We cycle along traffic free roads until we reach Božava. On the way we get impressed by terrific views and the deep blue sea and surrounding islands. Afterwards the boat takes off to the flower island of Molat where we spend the night.

Day 5

Islands of Molat and Lošinj (cycle tour approx. 10 + 45 km/ 6 + 27 mi.)

After breakfast a short cycle tour leads us across the island of Molat from the port Molat to Zapuntel. Here the boat awaits us for the cruise to Mali Lošinj where we take another bike ride along the water front and many picturesque bays until we reach the southernmost part of the island and the village of Veli Losinj. The small port town with its numerous fishing boats is dominated by the imposing church of St. Anton. We stay overnight in Mali Lošinj.

Day 6

Islands of Cres and Lošinj (cycle tour approx. 45 km/ 28 mi.)

From Mali Lošinj we cycle across the island as far as the artists’ village of Osor. The bay with its crystal clear water is perfect for swimming. On a guided tour through Osor we learn about the Croatian history, its currency and why there are no snakes on Cres and the connection of the artists’ village and the Greek mythology. Then we cycle further on through pine, fig and laurel trees along the east side of the island and to Martinš?ica. From here a short cruise takes us to Cres town. If weather conditions are fine, we may stop with the boat for a swim in one of the numerous bays. In the evening a guided walk through the Venetian old is offered by our tour guides.

Day 7

Island of Cres – Omišalj (cycle tour approx. 23 km/ 14 mi.)

After breakfast we take our last bike ride up to the village of Predošica, situated 400 m above sea level. From here we have a wonderful view to the islands of the Kvarner Bay and the impressive Velebit mountains on the mainland. During lunch the boat cruises back to Omišalj where we arrive after a 4 hrs sail. On our way we have a chance to swim again in the Adriatic. The last evening aboard takes place traditionally and includes the customary dinner and a last get-together in a cosy atmosphere with crew and tour guides.

Day 8

Omišalj (Departure)
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.
